An estimated 20 million people gathered for the Hindu festival of Kumbh Mela (Allahabad) on 30 January 2001 in Prayag.

Mawsynram  is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya state in north-eastern India. It is reportedly the wettest place on Earth, with an average annual rainfall of 11,872 millimetres.
